Privacy Policy

Poporio provides tools to discover, track and discuss movies and television series. This policy explains what personal data the Poporio mobile application collects, why it is used, when it is shared and the choices available to you.

1. Data we collect

Account and profile

• Email address, account identifier, display name and authentication information.
• Profile photo and other profile details you choose to provide.
• When you choose Google Sign-In, Google may provide your name, email address and profile photo.

Watch activity and preferences

• Watchlists, favorites, tracking status, watched episodes, progress, ratings and notes.
• Quiz participation, answers, scores, rankings and multiplayer game history.
• App language and notification preferences.

Social content and communications

• Friend requests and accepted connections.
• Posts, comments, reactions and reports you submit.
• Messages, photos and other media you send or publish through social features.

Device, diagnostics and advertising

• Push-notification token, device type, operating-system version and app version.
• Crash reports, diagnostics, performance information and app interactions collected through Firebase services.
• Where advertising is enabled, Google AdMob may process device identifiers, IP address, approximate location and ad interactions. Consent choices are requested where required.

2. Why we use this data

• Authenticate users and secure accounts.
• Store and synchronize watchlists, progress and preferences.
• Provide quizzes, rankings, messages, social feeds and notifications.
• Moderate content, respond to reports, prevent abuse and protect the service.
• Diagnose failures and improve stability and performance.
• Display and measure advertising when permitted.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to valid requests.

3. When data is shared

We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only as needed to operate the service:

• Supabase provides authentication, database, storage and server functions.
• Google provides optional Google Sign-In, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging and AdMob.
• TMDB provides movie and television metadata. Poporio accesses TMDB through its server-side proxy; your Poporio account data is not sent to TMDB for authentication.
• Other users see information and content according to the app feature involved, your actions and the applicable friendship or visibility rules.
• Authorities or professional advisers may receive information when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety and the service.

4. Advertising choices

Where required, Poporio requests consent before allowing AdMob to load ads. You can revisit available advertising choices from the app's privacy or advertising preferences. Device-level advertising controls may also be available in Android settings.

5. Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while the account is active or as needed to provide the requested service. Content you delete may be removed earlier. When account deletion completes, Poporio removes the active account record and associated profile, watch, social, message, quiz and uploaded-media data handled by the deletion service.

Limited security records or residual provider backups may remain only for the period required for fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution or the provider's protected backup cycle. They are not kept as an active user profile.

You can delete your account inside the app or follow the instructions on the account deletion page.

6. Your rights and controls

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. To make a request, contact support@poporio.com. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you.

7. Security

Poporio uses encrypted network connections, managed authentication, database access controls and authorization rules. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect their device and credentials.

8. Children

Poporio is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when the app, providers or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will remain available at this address.
